Who are we?

Joe and Linda Fabian
Dance Wyoming has become a place for people of all ages to learn and enjoy the performing arts as well as serving as a resource for the community where people can celebrate birthdays, baby showers or other events.
Dance Wyoming was established in 2001 by Joe and Linda Fabian. Joe and Linda started their competitive dance career in 1996 and enjoyed competing at venues all over the United States and Canada. They held several World Champion titles and retired from the competitive dance world in 2011 after reaching the UCWDC Master Crown Division. After retiring from dance, they both continued to work on the circuit, Joe as a judge and Linda as a Floor Coordinator. Joe and Linda enjoyed teaching everyone from age three and up, and something that brought them special joy was creating a special couple’s wedding dance.
The Fabians have always been very active in the community, Joe served as Wheatland’s mayor, and Linda is the Executive Secretary for the Wyoming Historical Society. They also worked closely with the High School Drama Club in choreographing various musicals and were the founders of “Dancing with the Stars: Platte County Style” which they created and orchestrated. This scholarship fundraiser for the Wheatland Kiwanis Club quickly became a signature event for the area and ran for 5 seasons.
Joe’s love for dance, his community, and the Lord continued through his battle with cancer. At the time of his death in July 2018 he was just completing his first term as mayor, a job he held dear to his heart. Because Joe and Linda built the studio on a firm foundation, Linda (together with six of the best dance teachers in the land) continue to bring their individual and collective dance expertise to the studio. Together they work hard to keep Dance Wyoming a positive resource for the community.
For many years, Joe and Linda honored their high school graduating seniors with a scholarship. In 2018 the Dance Wyoming teachers created an official Joe Fabian Memorial Dance Scholarship, to continue to honor these graduating seniors. These students have gone on to major in all aspects of the performing arts. You can help us continue the tradition by donating to the Scholarship fund, or simply by coming and joining us on the dance floor! Donations to the scholarship are welcome and can be sent to First State Bank, 1405 16th Street, Wheatland WY 82201.
